Intercon Named PA Best Place to Work 2011 - 10/4/11
Intercon Automation, Inc. has been named one of the Best Places to Work in PA for 2011. The awards program, created in 2000, is one of the first statewide programs of its kind in the country. The program is a public/private partnership between Team Pennsylvania Foundation, the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development, the Pennsylvania State Council of the Society for Human Resource Management, and the Central Penn Business Journal

This survey and awards program was designed to identify, recognize and honor the best places to be employed in Pennsylvania, benefiting the state's economy, its workforce and businesses. Employers are categorized based upon the total number of employees they have in the United States, 25 to 249 employees and 250 or more employees.

Companies from across the state entered the two-part process to determine the 100 Best Places to Work in PA. The first part of this process was evaluating each nominated company's workplace policies, practices, philosophies, systems and demographics. This part of the process was worth approximately 25% of the total evaluation. The second part consisted of an employee survey to measure the employee experience. This part of the process was worth approximately 75% of the total evaluation. The combined scores determined the top companies and the final ranking. Best Companies Group managed the overall registration and survey process.

Intercon will be recognized at the Best Places to Work in PA awards banquet on Thursday, December 1, at the Lancaster County Convention Center in Lancaster, PA. Rankings will be revealed at the ceremony.

Intercon is a Linc contractor and Automated Logic dealer serving the Central Pennsylvania region since 1998.

Once we've benchmarked your building's current performance, we can then actively identify areas where you are wasting energy and offer solutions. It is critical to know where your building currently ranks and to verify the success of any energy conservation measures that we implement. Coupling Energy Services with other efficiency and conservation initiatives we offer allows our clients to achieve and sustain an efficient, comfortable, high-performance building environment. Intercon Announces Environmental Index Tool – 3/10/09
Intercon announces the release of its new Environmental Index (EI) for immediate availability to its clients. Every facility manager strives to operate his or her facilities as efficiently as possible while maintaining comfort within the space. However, measuring comfort can be a challenge since it is such a subjective topic. The EI quantifies this esoteric metric by measuring the amount of time that a zone remains within its setpoint limits during an occupied period. This performance is then “graded” and presented to the facility manager by zone, by floor, by building, and even by campus. This information can then be used to target and optimize energy efficiency initiatives throughout a client’s facilities while still optimally maintaining the comfort of its occupants. Ask Intercon about using EI as part of your facility management strategy.
